Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

What is disinfection, and why is it important?

Disinfection is the process of eliminating or reducing harmful microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, on surfaces or in the air to prevent the spread of infections and diseases.

Cleaning removes dirt, dust, and debris from surfaces, while disinfection targets and kills or inactivates pathogens. Effective hygiene requires both cleaning and disinfection.

Our Organic Disinfection Service can target bacteria (e.g., E. coli, Salmonella), viruses (e.g., influenza, COVID-19), fungi (e.g., mold, yeast), and other harmful microorganisms.

Organic Disinfectants
What makes an organic disinfectant different from chemical disinfectants?

Organic disinfectants use naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients that are non-toxic and safe for humans, animals, and the environment, unlike chemical disinfectants, which may contain harsh or harmful substances.

Yes, many organic disinfectants are highly effective against a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Some, like the Path-Away Anti-Pathogenic Aerosol Solution®, are proven to eliminate over multiple pathogens while being eco-friendly.

Yes, our certified organic input solution is suitable for healthcare environments and has proven to eliminate hospital-acquired infections (HAI’s) without exposing patients to harmful chemicals.

Usage and Applications
What surfaces can be disinfected?

Disinfection can be performed on high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops, handles, medical equipment, electronics, and HVAC systems.

Yes, systems like our portable FogClean™ machine and our HVAC-integrated solution like our patented M3 system® can disinfect the air, targeting airborne pathogens and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) before you have a chance to breath them in.

Organic disinfectants are generally safe for food-contact surfaces as they are non-toxic and do not leave harmful residues. Always confirm certification for food-safe applications.

The frequency depends on the environment. High-traffic areas and healthcare facilities may require frequent disinfection, while less-used spaces can be disinfected weekly or as needed. Most commercial areas should be disinfected every day without fail.

Safety and Environmental Concerns
Are organic disinfectants safe for people with allergies or sensitivities?

Yes, organic disinfectants are typically hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and safe for individuals with respiratory conditions or skin sensitivities. Our Path-Away Anti-Pathogenic Aerosol Solution® is extremely effective with respiratory and allergy issues.

Organic disinfectants are biodegradable and non-toxic, reducing environmental pollution and harm to aquatic life compared to traditional chemical disinfectants.

Yes, organic disinfectants are designed to be safe for use in homes with children and pets.

Technical and Operational Questions
How does the M3 system attach to HVAC systems?

The M3 system® is designed to integrate with existing HVAC units, dispersing disinfectant as a dry fog to sanitize air and surfaces efficiently.

The system in combination with our Path-Away Anti-Pathogenic Aerosol Solution® is proven effective against over multiple pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, Fungi and molds, and also neutralizes VOCs. For a more comprehensive list, see our kill list in our products menu.

Organic disinfectants applied as a fine mist or dry fog are safe for electronics, as they do not leave harmful residues or cause moisture damage. Our M3 system® and FogClean™ Lite Machine are practically the only machines that can produce the dry fog that is required for electronic usage.

No! With our M3 system® and FogClean™ Lite Machine all surfaces will remain dry and cushioned seats, like in are car, can be sat on immediately without damp concerns.

Look for EPA, FDA, or equivalent local certifications, as well as independent laboratory testing to verify efficacy and safety.
